Sharron Taylor Streeter received her B.S. in Mathematics from Tougaloo College in 1983 and the M.S. in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology. Prior to coming to Tougaloo College to teach, Ms. Streeter worked as a systems engineer at Bell Laboratories in Illinois.
She returned to her alma mater in 1988 and for 36 years made a lasting impact in the lives of many students at Tougaloo College.
Ms. Streeter served in many roles including former chair of the Mathematics & Computer Science Department, McNair Liaison and Director of the Boddie Plantation Project.
Professor Streeter is currently a consultant with the Tougaloo College Research and Development Foundation. She continues to support the Mathematics and Computer Science department through teaching and conducting research to uncover historical evidence of the enslaved on the Boddie Plantation (present day Tougaloo College).
