Connect to Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) in SCALE
The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) is an 11-week summer program to develop students’ research potential. Students participate 40 hours per week during the summer break conducting research activities and attending professional development seminars all on the Purdue University West Lafayette, Indiana campus.
A list of research topics is published at the end of each fall semester. Students will need to apply to the SURF program in January of the spring semester and will work with their assigned SCALE mentor to help select the topic. Once SURF begins, students will interact with others who are part of the SCALE program, receive mentoring, work collaboratively with a wide range of participants, and will have the opportunity to interact with nationally recognized experts in the field of microelectronics. The SCALE program pays for the cost of this summer program, providing students with a $6,000 stipend, free housing for the duration of the program, and flights to and from the student’s home or school location.
