Education Research Opportunities
Undergraduate Research Experience
You may already know that you want to do original research and create new knowledge in the field of microelectronics, but did you know that you don't have to wait until you get in to graduate school to get started? There are many options available to undergraduates as well. Most colleges and universities have offices where you can find out more information about undergraduate research programs available at your school. But there are also some programs that are tailored to students who want to do research related to microelectronics. We've curated information to help you discover opportunities for doing research and contributing new knowledge to the microelectronics field even while you are a student.
Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)
Research can be completed outside of the regular academic calendar. Does your school offer summer undergraduate research fellowships?
Graduate Research Experiences
Some exciting research areas are focused on Trusted and Assured microelectronics for defense and national security purposes. Learn more about the experiences of graduate students who are entering the microelectronics workforce while modernizing technology and mitigating malicious hardware and counterfeit components throughout the production process.
Government Sponsored Educational Research Opportunities
Did you know that some graduate students are able to earn a funded-research position where they are part of a team of collaborators doing government-funded research through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program. We've curated information to help you discover funded research opportunities for graduate students who are specializing in areas important to the field.
Independent Research Opportunities
Not all research is connected to an education institution. Consider research options that are independent of a school affiliation.
